This LaBr3 crystal was grown in the SMART Lab by a low pressure vertical Bridgman technique, and is shown under ultraviolet light. The Ingot is 19 mm in diameter. Much of the ingot cracked during cooling, yet there is a 37 mm long single crystal at the tail end. For comparison, a NaI(Tl) commercial cystal is shown in the upper right.
